16 KINDS OF TENSES

Present Tense 
        A.    Simple Present Tense
         This tenses are used to denote something that is fixed, habitual or an essential truth. Because it is often related to the incident at about past, present and future, this at least has the Tenses description for a certain time.
·         Form Verbal:
            (+) S + V1 s/es + O
            (-) S + do/does not + V1 + O…
            (?) Do/Does + S + V…?
            Example Verbal:
            (+) My sister applies the jacket
            (-) My sister doesn’t apply the jacket
            (?) Does my sister apply the jacket?
·         Form Nominal:
            (+) S + be(am, is, are) + Adj / Noun / Adverb (disingkat ANA)
            (-) S + be + not + ANA
            (?) Be + S + ANA?
            Example Nominal:
            (+) Revi is a beautiful women
            (-) Revi is not beautiful woman.
            (?) Is Revi a beautiful woman?

         B.    Present Continuous Tense
          This tenses are used to express an action which is actually being done at this time.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + be + V-ing + O
(-) S + be + not + V-ing + O
(?) Be + S + V-ing + O…
Example Verbal:
(+) She is answering a question
(-) She is not answering a question  
(?) Is She answering a question?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + be (am, is, are) + Adj / Noun / Adverb (ANA)
(-) S + be + not + ANA
(?) Be + S + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) She is a good women
(-) She is not a good women.
(?) Is She a good women?

         C.    Present Perfect Tense
          This tenses are used to express your experience. This sentence can used to say that you have never had a certain experience. Present Perfect Tense didn’t use to describe specific event.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Have/Has + V3 + O
(-) S + Have/Has + not + V3 + O
(?) have/has + S + V3 + O
Example Verbal:
(+) I have met her at a hospital lastday
(-) I have not met her at a hospital lastday.
(?) Have I met her at a hospital lastday?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + have/has + to be 3 (been) + non verb + O
(-) S + have/has + not + to be 3 + non verb + O
(?) have/has + S + to be 3 + non verb + O?
Example Nominal:
(+) He has been there for 2 hours.
(-) He has not been there for 2 hours.
(?) Has He been there for 2 hours?

          D.    Present Perfect Continuous
           Present Perfect Continuous Tense is used to show that something started in the past and has continued up until now. ”for two hours’, ‘for two weeks’, ‘since yesterday’ are all durations which can be used with this sentence. Without the durations, the tense has a more general meaning of “lately.” We often use the words “lately” or “recently” to emphasize this meaning.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + have/has + been + V-ing + O + Adj / Noun / Adverb (ANA)
(-) S + have/ has + not + been + V-ing + O + ANA
(?) Have/has + S + been + V-ing + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) Rani has been playing at garden.
(-) Rani has not been playing at garden.
(?) Has Rani been playing at garden?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + has/have + been + ANA
(-) S + has/have + not + been + ANA
(?) Has/have + S + been + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) We have been at office
(-) We have not been at office.
(?) Have we been in office?
Past Tense
         A.    Simple Past Tense
          We used this tense to talk about the past.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + V2 + O + Adj / Noun / Adverb (ANA)
(-) S + did + not + V1 + O + ANA
(?) Did + S + V1 + O + ANA?
Example Verbal:
(+) My Mother visited to the art museum last week.
(-) My Mother did not visit to the art museum last week.
(?) Did My Mother visit to the museum last week?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + to be 2 (was/were) + ANA
(-) S + to be 2 (was/were) + ANA
(?) to be 2 + S + ANA?
Example Nominal:
(+) I were a mother
(-) I were not a mother.
(?) Were I a mother?
Note:
Was: He, She, It.
Were: I, You, We, They.

          B.    Past Continuous Tense
           This tense is used to say when we were in the middle of doing at a particular moment in the past.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + to be 2 (was/were) + V-ing + O
(-) S + to be 2 (was/were) + not + V-ing + O
(?) to be 2 (was/were) + S + V-ing + O
Example Verbal:
(+) Lina was coming over to my apartment
(-) Lina was not coming over to my apartment.
(?) Was Lina coming over to my apartment?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + to be 2 + Adj / Noun / Adverb (ANA)
(-) S + to be 2 + not + ANA
(?) to be 2 + S + ANA ?
Example Nominal:
(+) We were childish.
(-) We were not childish.
(?) Were We childish?

           C.    Past Perfect Tense
The Past Perfect expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. It can also show that something happened before a specific time in the past.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + had + V3
(-) S + had + not + V3
(?) Had + S + V3
Example Verbal:
(+) The car had braked.
(-) The car had not braked.
(?) Had The car braked?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + had + been + ANA
(-) S + had + not + been + ANA
(?) Had + S + been + ANA?
Example Nominal:
(+) Joko had been Bayu’s House since yesterday.
(-) Joko had not been Bayu’s House since yesterday.
(?) Had Joko been Bayu’s House since yesterday?

           D.    Past Perfect Continuous Tense
            We use the Past Perfect Continuous to show that something started in the past and continued up until another time in the past. “For five minutes” and “for two weeks” are both durations which can be used with the Past Perfect Continuous. Notice that this is related to the Present Perfect Continuous however, the duration does not continue until now, it stops before something else in the past.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + had + been + V-ing
(-) S + had + not + been + V-ing
(?) Had + S + been + V-ing
Example Verbal:
(+) Ramdan had been swimming at pool.
(-) Ramdan had not been swimming at pool.
(?) Had he been swimming at pool?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Had + Been + Being + O+ ANA
(-) S + Had + Not + Been + Being + O + ANA
(?) Had + S + Been + Being + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) Ridwan had been being a Olympic Running since 5 years ago.
(-) Ridwan had not been being a Olympic Running since 5 years ago
(?) Had Ridwan been being a Olympic Running since 5 years ago?
Future Tense
         A.    Simple Future Tense
          Often called will. because, the modal auxiliary verb in this sentence is will.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Will/Shall + V1 + O + ANA
(-) S + Will/Shall + not + V1 + O + ANA
(?) Will/Shall + S + V1 + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) We will buy a book next week.
(-) We will not buy book next week.
(?) Will we buy book next week?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Will/Shall + Be + O + ANA
(-) S + Will/Shall + not + be + O + ANA
(?) Will/Shall + S + be + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) Mila shall be a bridesmaid in my wedding tomorrow.
(-) Mila shall not be a bridesmaid in my wedding tomorrow.
(?) Shall Mila be a bridesmaid in my wedding tomorrow?

          B.    Future Continuous Tense
           Future Continuous has two different forms: “will be doing” and “be going to be doing”. Future Continuous forms are usually interchangeable.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + will/shall + be + V-ing + O
(-) S + will/shall + not + be + V-ing + O
(?) Will/Shall + S + be + V-ing + O?
Example Verbal:
(+) I will be singing a pop at wedding party.
(-) I will not be singing a pop at wedding party.
(?) Will I be singing a pop at wedding party?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + will/shall + be + being + O + ANA
(-) S + will/shall + not + be + being + O + ANA
(?) Will/Shall + S + be + being + O + ANA?
Example Nominal:
(+) Rehan shall be being a professional pilot.
(-) Rehan shall not be being aprofessional pilot.
(?) Shall Rehan be being a professional pilot?

           C.    Future Perfect Tense
            This sentence is used when we talk about the past in the future
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Will/Shall + Have + V3 + O + ANA
(-) S + will/shall + not + have + V3 + O + ANA
(?) Will/Shall + S + have + V3 + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) We will have found the Tika’s house
(-) We will not have found the Tika’s house
(?) Will we have found the Tika’s house?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Will/Shall + Have + Been + O + ANA
(-) S + will/shall + not + have + been + O + ANA
(?) Will/shall + S + have + been + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) I will have been at Station kranji at 5 pm
(-) I will not have been at Station kranji at 5 pm
(?) Will I have been at Station kranji at 5 pm?

            D.    Future Perfect Continuous Tense
             We use the future perfect continuous tense to talk about a long action before some point in the future.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Will/Shall + Have + Been + V-ing + O + ANA
(-) S + will/shall + not + have + been + V-ing + O + ANA
(?) Will/Shall + S + have + been + V-ing + O + ANA ?
Example Verbal:
(+) I will have been drawing for my sister birthday.
(-) I will not have been drawing for my sister birhday.
(?) Will I have been drawing for my sister birthday?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Will/Shall + Have + Been + O + ANA
(-) S + Will/Shall + not + Have + Been + O + ANA
(?) Will/Shall + S + Have + Been + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) I will have been a doctor.
(-) I will not have been a doctor.
(?) Will I have been a doctor?
Past Future
         A.    Simple Past Future Tense
           this tense is used to express the events that WILL be done, BUT in the past, not the present.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Would/Should + V1 + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + V1 + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + V1 + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) We would help the cat in the river
(-) We would not help the cat in the river.
(?) Would we help the cat in the river?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Be + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + Be + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Be + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) Barto should be at beach next week
(-) Barto should not be at beach next week
(?) Should Barto be at beach next week?

          B.    Past Future Continuous Tense
           Past Future Continuous tells an action would be in progress in the past. time signals for this tense is time in the past like, this morning, yesterday, last night, last week and so on.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Be + V-ing + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + Be + V-ing + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Be + V-ing + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) My brother should be playing basketball in the morning.
(-) My brother should not be playing basketball in the morning.
(?) Should My Brother be playing basketball in the morning?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Be + Being + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + Be + Being + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Be + Being + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) I would be being a entrepreneur.
(-) I would not be being a entrepreneur.
(?) Would I be being a entrepreneur?

           C.    Past Future Perfect Tense 
            This tense is restates the action stated in Future Perfect Tense but with different time dimension, it is in past time whilst the Future Perfect is in future time (not happen yet).
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Have + V3 + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should+ Not + Have + V3 + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Have + V3 + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) She should have visited her friend at hospital
(-) She should not have visited her friend at hospital.
(?) Should she have visited her friend at hospital?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Have + Been + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + Have + Been + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Have + Been + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) I Would have been at campus next day.
(-) I Would not have been at campus next day.
(?) Would I have been at campus next day?

            D.    Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense
              Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense emphasizes on the course and the duration of the action. Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense is used to tell an action which would have been happening until a certain time (period) in the past.
·         Form Verbal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Have + Been + V-ing + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + Have + Been + V-ing + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Have + Been + V-ing + O + ANA
Example Verbal:
(+) My teacher should have been giving a good value
(-) My teacher should not have been giving a good value.
(?) Should my teacher have been giving a good value?
·         Form Nominal:
(+) S + Would/Should + Have + Been + Being + O + ANA
(-) S + Would/Should + Not + Have + Been + Being + O + ANA
(?) Would/Should + S + Have + Been + Being + O + ANA
Example Nominal:
(+) I should have been being nurses at the hospital.
(-) I should not have been being nurses at the hospital.
(?) Should I have been being nurses at the hospital?
